A Second Glance at 2020

With 2020 taking the world by storm, it can be challenging to find the silver lining among the chaos. There has been an influx of new businesses, a plethora of self discovery for some and ultimately a major shift from the “norm.” While we may not get back to our comfortable way of living, stakes have been raised for us to get back to ourselves with these gentle reminders to carry into 2021.

  • You are not alone. The first and most vital reminder is that you are not in this by yourself.

  • “Gratitude is constant, ever changing, everlasting.” - Kehlani

Expressing gratitude sounds like a simple task; so simple in fact, we tend to forget how many things, large or small, that we’re grateful for; good or bad, express gratitude.

  • Do not take things personally. Everyone has their own personal battles that we know nothing about. Projection is totally a thing and if someone unexpectedly lashes out or does something out of character, express empathy and understanding. It’s been a rough one for the majority sis.

  • Expand your perspective. Once you find a different angle, you may find another way of doing things, another way through or a way out.

  • Trust your intuition. Practice self validation to help instill faith in yourself. Your intuition will be honest with you, it’s up to you to listen.

  • You did your best. That’s it. Nothing more nothing less. Stop being so hard on yourself. You’re still out here glowing love!

  • Your peace is better than proving your point. Don’t bend over backwards for people committed to not understanding you. While being the “bigger person” may trouble your ego, your spirit will thank you in the long run.

  • Take your time with yourself. Allow yourself space and time to process emotions. No one is expecting you to have all the answers at this moment.

  • Stay in your magic. You are uniquely and purposely made. The magic you choose to share with the world will be nothing short of amazing.

  • GO OUTSIDE. Nature is your friend, it would be nice to be reacquainted.

  • You want to be comfortable or grow? You know you can’t do both right? There is no growth in comfort zones.

  • Surrender. Release the need to be in control. If nothing else, 2020 has reminded us the more we force things, pushing for the result we want, the further the end result seems to be.

On the assumption 2020 didn’t go as you quite planned, whether it be good or bad, you made it through sis. Progress, not perfection. Note these reminders from the past year to bring into 2021. You got this.
